The Background
Welcome to Macaulay Travels founded by Emma Macaulay. A little bit about me . . I am 36 years old, own a small farm in the Scottish Husband where I live with my Husband, our daughter and our small Dachshund Benson along with a menagerie of animals from sheep to ducks and chickens. I have a passion for travelling and exploring whilst also an appreciation for the finer things in life. I am Scottish born and bred, my father was from a little place called Muir of Ord, and my mother is from Illinois in the USA having moved to Scotland when she was only 8 years old. For our honeymoon we spent 8 months touring around Canada and America in our little Dodge Caravan and I loved every moment of exploration and adventure from the Rocky Mountains to Niagara Falls! I have been a tour guide for a few years now after starting out with a small tour company in Invergordon after my maternity leave ended.

After becoming a tour guide I knew instantly that this was what I was meant to do in life. I love talking to people and sharing the wonderful things that Scotland has to offer. I am now a full time professional tour guide / operator with my own 8 seater luxury Mercedes Viano. After talking with some other guides when I initially started out on my tour guide journey, I decided to do a certification to become an approved tour guide through HOSTGA (Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association). After completing this course I decided that I wanted to open my own business and create unique experiences for people who were looking for something a little bit different and more luxury orientated. I felt that this was an area really lacking in the Highlands of Scotland and so I have worked hard to make new connections to be able to offer really unique luxury experiences to my potential guests. I want to add value to people's time in Scotland by providing a tailored experience that will help you to make memories that will last for a lifetime.
