What's Included

Enjoy a relaxed 6 to 8 hour private food and drink journey through the Black Isle and Inverness area, visiting some of the Highlands’ most loved producers and artisan locations. Your day includes a stop at Black Isle Brewery to discover organic Highland brewing, time to explore Inverness’s historic Victorian Market with its local food stalls and specialist shops, and a visit to the Great Glen Distillery beside Loch Ness for a handcrafted gin tasting.

You will also enjoy a stop at Robertsons The Larder Farm Shop in Beauly to sample fresh local produce, cheeses and meats, before finishing the day with a guided whisky experience at The Singleton Distillery at Glen Ord. Throughout the tour, your guide will share local stories and insights that connect each place to the wider food and drink heritage of the Highlands.

At Black Isle Brewery you will enjoy a relaxed visit to this renowned organic brewery, learning about its commitment to traditional brewing methods, local ingredients and environmental responsibility. Your guide will share the story behind the brewery and its role in the modern Highland food and drink scene, with time to sample and browse where available. We look forward to sharing this stop with you for approximately 30 minutes.

Robertsons the Larder Farm Shop

A celebration of local produce and traditional Highland food. At Robertsons The Larder in Beauly you will have time to sample and browse a carefully selected range of cheeses, meats and locally sourced goods. While here, there is also a chance to see Highland cows and alpacas, adding a charming rural touch to the visit. Your guide will share insight into the importance of farm shops and local suppliers within Highland food culture. We look forward to sharing this stop with you for approximately 30 minutes.

Great Glen Gin Distillery

A small but distinctive distillery inspired by the landscapes of Loch Ness. Here you will enjoy a visit to Scotland’s smallest gin distillery, learning about small batch production, locally inspired botanicals and the craft behind each spirit. A guided tasting is included, offering insight into the flavours and techniques that define this unique Highland gin. Your visit to Glen Ord includes a guided whisky experience, offering an insight into the distilling process, maturation and craftsmanship behind The Singleton single malt. Learn about the history of the distillery and the flavours that make this whisky so distinctive, with time to enjoy the setting and tastings.   • How long is the tour? This is a full-day private tour lasting between 6 to 8 hours, depending on your chosen pick-up point and how long you wish to spend at each food and drink stop.

  • Is this tour available from Invergordon Cruise Port? Yes, absolutely. We regularly welcome cruise guests from Invergordon (Port of Cromarty Firth). Your tour is scheduled to ensure you return in plenty of time before your ship’s departure.

  • Where does the tour start and end? We offer pick-up and drop-off from Inverness, Invergordon Cruise Port, or other nearby locations by prior arrangement.

  • What sites will we visit? – Key stops typically include:

  • Black Isle Brewery – Discover Highland organic brewing and enjoy a tasting of locally crafted beers.

  • How many people can join this tour? - This is a private tour for up to 7 guests, travelling in our luxury Mercedes V-Class with leather seats, air conditioning, and onboard fridge with bottled water. If your group is bigger than 7 we can accommodate you across two more more vehicles. 

  • Is this tour suitable for children? - Yes, children are welcome, however they won't be able to take part in the Whisky Tour. Overall the tour is engaging for families, though some stops involve tastings best suited for older children and teens.

  • Do you provide bottled water or snacks? - Yes, complimentary bottled water is provided in the vehicle fridge. You are welcome to bring your own snacks or purchases from the market or farm shops.

  • Do I need to book in advance? - Yes, we highly recommend booking early, especially during cruise season or peak Highland visitor months, to secure your preferred date.

  • Is the tour wheelchair accessible? - Some stops, such as the Victorian Market or farm shop, are easily accessible. Other locations, like brewery tasting areas or distillery tours, may have uneven flooring or steps. Please contact us in advance to discuss mobility needs so we can tailor the route accordingly.
