Yes. If they would like to enjoy a whisky distillery tour or tasting while you shop, explore and enjoy your ladies’ day out, we can help arrange a suitable drop-off and collection as part of the day. This works especially well for guests staying in the Highlands, or for cruise passengers where timing allows. Distillery tours and tastings must be booked in advance and are not included unless added during the booking process.

 

Does the tour have to include Dunrobin Castle?

No. Dunrobin Castle is a beautiful option and one of the most iconic places to visit from both Invergordon and Dornoch, but it does not have to be included if you would prefer a slower, more relaxed day.

For Invergordon cruise passengers, Dunrobin is a wonderful highlight and works beautifully with Dornoch and Loch Fleet. For Dornoch hotel guests, you may prefer to stay more local with boutique shopping, spa time, afternoon tea, beach walks, whisky or gin tasting, or a relaxed lunch instead.

Is entry to Dunrobin Castle included?

Entry to Dunrobin Castle can be included if Dunrobin is part of your chosen itinerary. If you would prefer not to visit the castle, we can adjust the tour and focus instead on Dornoch, the coast, shopping, spa time, afternoon tea or other relaxed Highland experiences.

Will there be time for lunch?

Yes. We can include time in Dornoch for lunch, afternoon tea or light refreshments. Lunch is not included in the tour price, but we can recommend lovely local options and help plan this into your day.

Can we add afternoon tea or a spa experience?

Yes. You can request relaxed luxury add-ons such as afternoon tea at Mara at Links House in Dornoch, a spa experience at Aspen Spa, whisky or gin tastings, chocolates, flowers or chilled Prosecco in the vehicle. These are not included in the standard tour price and can be selected during checkout, then arranged where available.

Please note that adding both a spa experience and lunch or afternoon tea may extend the tour from around 5 to 6 hours to approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Is this a shopping tour?

Shopping is one of the lovely options, but the day is not only about shopping. You can browse Highland boutiques, enjoy lunch, visit the cathedral, stroll on Dornoch Beach, stop for hot chocolate or ice cream, visit Dunrobin Castle, enjoy coastal scenery and simply take the day at your own pace.

 

What if shopping is not my thing?

That is absolutely fine. We can include a peaceful walk along Dornoch’s golden sand beach, more time for scenery, coffee, local history, photography, gin or whisky tasting, gardens, a visit to the Historylinks Museum, or a relaxed lunch instead.

 

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. The tour can be adapted for families, with time for castle exploring, wildlife spotting at Loch Fleet, Highland cows where possible, beach time and local treats. Children’s car seats are available on request.

 

Is there walking involved?

There is some light walking at Dunrobin Castle, in Dornoch and at photo stops such as Loch Fleet. The pace is relaxed, and we can adapt the day around your comfort and mobility where possible.

 

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable shoes and layered clothing suitable for Scotland’s changing weather. Even in summer, the Highlands can be breezy, especially near the coast.
